Preparing for Remembrance Day

With Remembrance Sunday coming up on the 14th November; here are 3 ways that your Local Council can plan for Armistice Day:

1) Map out routes for Remembrance Day parades and memorial services to walk on the day.

2) Plot where you want to hang poppies around your area.

3) Positions for Poppy Vendors around your village.

Kickstart your Asset Register

BHIB are offering to pay for your Council's Parish Online subscription , in full, if your Council sign a new three-year BHIB insurance contract, maintain your Asset Register using our mapping software, and ensure inspections and valuations are carried out correctly.

The key insurance challenge for your Council is to know exactly what assets you own and what liabilities you face. How many streetlights there are? When was the playground equipment last inspected? What is the value of the council offices? Who is liable if that tree falls across a road?

Date Label Styling

Previously, Parish Online would display date labels exactly as they appear in the database. This isn't a nice format so we've now fixed it so they are shown as YYYY-MM-DD.

If you have existing layers with a style that includes a date label then simply open up the styling tool and re-save the layer. It will then apply the new format

GIS Data Update

Suffolk County Council are sending us their Public Rights of Way data every 3 months. For any Parish Online user in Suffolk, you're now getting the most up-to-date information.

It's free and easy for your principal local authority to share data into Parish Online. This Month's FAQ

Q. My Parish Boundary is wrong, can you change it?
A. We get this information from Ordnance Survey, we don't manually update any parish boundaries ourselves. Make sure you get in contact with OS just to make them aware of the changes.
If you're a grouped parish then we can modify your account to reflect the updates, please This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to request this grouping
