Summer Events

With the advent of warmer weather to come, why not use Parish Online when planning your outdoor events.

As summer fetes are just around the corner, take advantage of digital mapping and use the software to plot out where your fete is being held, where the car parks are, where the stalls will be situated and how to make your event safe and COVID friendly.

Have you used maps to help plan your event? Show us what you've done as we'd love to share it on our website.

FAQ's

Q. I've forgotten my password, what should I do?
A. You can reset your password from the login page by using the 'Reset Password' function.

Q. I want to sign up but in the drop down box you only have CP, what does that mean?
A. 'CP' stands for Civil Parish. It's just how we hold your Local Council names in our database.

Q. My Parish Boundary is wrong, can you change it?
A. We get this information from Ordnance Survey, we don't manually update any parish boundaries ourselves. Make sure you get in contact with OS just to make them aware of the changes.
If you're a grouped parish then we can modify your account to reflect the updates, please contact us to request this grouping.

Q. How many users can we have?
A. You can add as many users as you'd like. User accounts allow a clerk to share responsibilities with councillors, neighbourhood plan groups, volunteers or consultants.
Accounts can be set to limit the user's ability to view and edit data. This ensures that data can only be edited by chosen users. For more information on how to do this, click here.

Q. Where can I find training materials?
A. You can find information via our knowledge base, on our YouTube channelFacebook User Group or you can email us.

Discounts

A reminder of our current active discount codes:

Berkshire ALC Discount (expires 31st May): balc20
Devon ALC Discount: (expires 31st August): dalc20

Please note, to qualify for these discounts your council needs to be a new subscriber and a member of your regional ALC.

Data Showcase

Parish Online contains a wealth of map datasets to help you with your council work.

The Land Registry Property Extents layer is an example of one of the datasets we provide you with. This is a layer that shows the property extent of freehold properties. With each area there's a reference number called an 'INSPIRE ID' which can be used in the HM Land Registry search website.

To find out more information on this layer and a list of FAQ'S, click here.

New Feature: Filtering

Recently we've added a new feature, which allows you to filter a map layer by selection. This will be useful for local councils who want to focus on a particular subject matter, such as Conservation Areas or highlighting addresses in a certain area. Another use that you might find to be of benefit is being able to filter to show individual parish boundaries.

Print Update

We've updated the print tool to improve the accuracy of the red box outline that represents the print area. The red box has been replaced with a mask that darkens the map outside the print area. The print tool now also snaps to the closest 'sensible' scale, meaning users are more likely to print a map with a round scale number, rather than something like 1:2,456.

Imports from Pear Technology

Here's a great example of local councils taking advantage of our partnership with Pear Technology. We uploaded this highly detailed cemetery map for All Canning Parish Council. If you'd like Pear Technology to do a survey, get in touch with the team for more information. Once you have the data, send it over to us and we can upload it into your account for you. You can view, amend and add plot information as you like.

If there's anything you need from us, please raise a support ticket.

Many thanks,

The Parish Online team
